SOW 7 Grade

Scheme of work

A well prepared scheme of work should among other things:-

Give an overview of the total course content.
Provide for a sequential listing of learning tasks.
Show a relationship between content and support materials.
Provide a basis for: long range planning, training and evaluation of the course.

Learners will use their drawings and any visual information that they have collected to produce a final pattern design. Learners should experiment with different compositions in order to demonstrate understanding.

The work should be presented on A3 size paper.

Tuning in: what is a beginning for patterns? Cave drawings.


Finding out: development of patterns. Ancient Greek vs. Arabic


Finding out: the most recent pattern development. Art Nouveau style patterns.


Sorting out: patterns are everywhere, even in nature.


Going further: using developed knowledge create your own pattern.

What it can be based on? Nature and animals, interests and favourites…
